Fleet and Facility Manager & Mechanic
Esch Landscaping, LLC is a residential and commercial landscape design/build firm located near the beautiful shores of Lake Huron on Saginaw Bay. Many of our clients have second homes along the coast of Lake Huron. We primarily service the thumb area of Michigan. The Fleet and Facility Manager and Mechanic is an experienced employee with a complete understanding and knowledge of heavy equipment, diesel engines and small equipment. This person works directly with the Operations Manager, and other division leaders and team members. This position oversees all aspects relating to our vehicles, equipment, and facility. This position is full time year-round.
Responsible for daily scheduling of vehicle and equipment preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
Responsible for managing repairs within a monthly and annual budget.
Maintains time and material records as necessary to complete daily job costing and manage hours for the fleet and facility.
Monitors the safety of vehicles and equipment daily.
Responsible for daily coordination of fleet with various crew leaders and team members.
Communicates daily with the Operations Manager, vendors and independent contractors, to discuss scheduling and fleet and facility needs.
Responsible for establishing and monitoring vehicle and equipment replacement dates and needs.
Maintains insurance and registration records and effectively communicates with the office as necessary to ensure vehicles are in compliance with laws and regulations.
Reports at mandatory manager meetings the status of the fleet and facility operations year-round.
Manages and adjusts their work schedule to ensure the required maintenance on off-site vehicles and equipment are properly maintained.
Maintains Company policy, the safety of crew members and safety of the public who may interact with the job.

High School Diploma/GED
Must possess a valid chauffeurs license
Competent in the use of power tools
Minimum of one year’s experience in a related field
Working knowledge of mechanics troubleshooting
Strong oral communication skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude
Ability to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently
Starting at $30,000-$35,000 annually; paid on an hourly basis.
