Meet Our Staff

Matt Esch, MCN, Owner

Matt is the 34 year old founder and owner of Esch Landscaping, LLC.  Matt started mowing lawns when he was 13 under the business name Matt’s Lawn Care.  Upon graduation from high school in 1995, he went on to Michigan State University to further his education in landscape design.  After completion of the two year program, he was well on his way to having a successful landscape company.

Matt’s goals are to offer the best customer service in the industry through the greater thumb of Michigan . He also wants to have a great team of workers to enjoy what they do for a living. In January, 2008, Esch Landscaping, LLC was featured in the Landscape Contractor National magazine in the residential showcase. In 2011 he was a finalist for Landscaper of The Year by the Total Landscape Care magazine.  Matt lives in Pigeon with his wife Lisa and children, Justin and Lauren.  He is the son of Denny and Dee and has two older brothers that also live in Michigan . In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family.

Lisa Esch,  Owner, Office Manager

Lisa helps run the business with Matt as the Office Manager. Upon graduation from high school in 1994, she attended Central Michigan University to study music education. After completing her B.M.E. degree, she started a teaching career in the Thumb area of Michigan. She now keeps busy running the office and taking care of their two children.

Denny Esch, Retail Manager

Denny joined Esch Landscaping, in June of 1996 as their first Irrigation Specialist. He was instrumental in the development and growth of the Irrigation Division. With growth and expansion of the Company, in 2003 Esch Landscaping moved to its present location on Crescent Beach Road . Soon after that Denny passed on his duties to the current Irrigation Technician and became the Retail Manager for the new division of the company. Over the past several years, the Retail Division has become the “Go To” location for all your plants, supplies and expert advice.

With the growth demand of the Maintenance Division, it was decided in the fall of 2010 that Esch Landscaping was to promote Denny to Sales Associate. With his expertise, his primary focus is customer relationships, keeping in mind, Accountability, Quality and Trust within the Maintenance Division.

Denny believes that, “Building a solid relationship requires focusing on our client’s needs….not ours.”

Christina Martens, Landscape Architect

Christina Martens, Registered Landscape Architect, joined Esch Landscaping, LLC in February 2009.  Christina received her Bachelors Degree in Landscape Architecture from Michigan State University . She worked in and around the Metro-Detroit and Ann Arbor areas, specializing in private development for residential and commercial site planning, design, approvals and permitting.

Christina, a native of the thumb, lives west of Unionville with her husband, Jason and their children, Olivia and Isaac. They enjoy doing anything and everything outdoors as a family. She also serves as Akron Township 's Zoning Administrator and sits on Tuscola County 's Parks and Recreation Board.

Christina looks forward to meeting many new faces, and is looking forward to helping clients create an outdoor living space that will become their favorite room.  Her focus is to offer comprehensive, innovative, and creative solutions to all your outdoor needs.  While targeting the landscape market more at the site planning stages in both residential and commercial development to create a complete outdoor experience.
